Opportunities for summer employment with the Sportzcampz4kidz (SC4K) include work as Camp Directors, Assistant Directors, and support staff (counselors) in sports camp programs in Arlington and Falls Church. We have been offering camps for some 25 years and take pride in offering fun and exciting camp opportunities for the youth of the area.
We offer camps from June 20 through the end of August. Staff typically work 30-40 hours per week. There will be some in person and virtual training opportunities. If you are selected to work, there are a few requirements that must be met by June 20. CPR/1st Aid Certification, Concussion Awareness, and Background Check to name a few. More info will be sent on the trainings. All camp staff will be trained to follow current guidelines (County/City-specific protocols) related to Covid-19 safety and health standards.

Tentative Pay Rate
STUDENT AIDE (SA) I/II - $12.00 to $13.00/Hourly
Responsible for assisting all leaders in the summer camp or program activities and operations. Applicants must be at least 16 years old to be hired for licensed preschool camps, all other camps require the applicant to be at least 15 years old.
Minimum requirements: Student Aide I qualifications are non-high school graduates, who have worked one month at a summer camp OR with children (in any capacity) for 3 months. Student Aide II qualifications are high school graduates enrolled in post-high school education programs, who have accumulated no more than 3 months of relevant experience.
SUMMER RECREATION ASSISTANT (SRA) I - $16.00/Hour
Responsible for assisting with the leading of recreation activities and behavior management of participants for a summer camp. Assists in camp or program operations.
Minimum requirements: High School Diploma/GED, plus three (3) months of experience in administering recreational programs.
SUMMER RECREATION ASSISTANT (SRA) II - $17.00/Hour
Responsible for assisting in the planning, leading, and conducting of recreation activities for a camp, behavior management of participants, and assisting in the evaluations of the activities and the participants.
Minimum requirements: High school/GED, plus six (6) months' experience in administering recreational programs.
RECREATION ASSISTANT (RA) III - $18.00/Hour
Responsible for planning, leading, and conducting recreation activities for a summer camp. Responsible for completing participant and program evaluations. Performs related supervisory and administrative duties.
Minimum requirements: High school/GED, plus one-year of experience (equivalent of 4 summers) in administering recreation programs.
RECREATION ASSISTANT (RA) IV - $22.00/Hour
Responsible for directing a summer camp with responsibility for all rooms in that program. Performs supervisory and administrative duties.
Minimum requirements: College degree in a related field, plus one (1) year of experience (equivalent of 4 summers) in administrating recreation programs. Related experience may be substituted for the college requirement, on a year-for-year basis. Must be at least 21 years old at time of employment.
